e-Miles Program - Opinions?
"As a Member of e-Miles®, you earn Continental Airlines OnePass® miles — simply for responding to marketing messages tailored to your interests!"
I admit I'm a sucker for online surveys (just a few more and I'll have enough points on one site for a waffle iron! Score!), which probably means I have too much time on my hands. I've been playing around with the e-Rewards program, where you take surveys and sign up for crap for pennies, and when you accumulate $25 can trade'em in for 500 OP miles. This new program gives you miles, and transfers them directly to your account in 500 mile chunks on a quarterly basis. 1) What's with all the gimmicky survey things? 2) How much hassle do y'all think this is going to be to actually get the paltry number of miles that accumulate? 3) Has anyone ever earned a substantial number of miles through this type of thing? |

It's too early to tell. The earnings opportunities were supposed to have begun in January, but times a wastin'.

Any updates?
So it's been a while since this thread was opened, has anyone subscribed to e-Miles for any length of time to know if it is worthwile? How about junk email, does it generate much?
One thing I read in the declrations is that they offer your email to third parties; so this is expected, but then I worry what those third parties do in turn. Last thing we need is more junk email, unless you like that stuff (some do!). Regards |

Regards The 10 miles I just earned probably took less than a minute - and, yes, it'll never earn a free flight but I found recently I was just a couple of hundred above the level needed for a reward so.... it did make a difference. As above, I find it innocuous and it takes seconds to click the ads and a few short questions. However, I don't bother using it for CO and instead use it for another frequent flier account so that my miles there don't expire....

E-miles has not resulted in more than the usual steady stream of spam that I get in my email account. The miles take less time to earn than it takes you to browse the front page of CNN.

I am doing ok with e-miles and e-rewards. So far I have received about 1500 miles from the two programs

I've earned 1000 miles since I signed up, only once paying for an offer (I subscribed to Sherman's Travel magazine, which I really enjoy anyway). Even when I have clicked "yes, I would like to hear more about this offer," I haven't noticed any increase in junk mail.
I also earned my waffle iron and three $25 gift certificates to cooking.com through the Lightspeedpanel.com site, but they don't have travel rewards there. |
