CPH Lounge?
 

Hey folks --

I'm flying BF out of CPH on Sunday. Anyone know what lounge I get to use and what it's like? (Snacks, breakfast foods etc...)

Hi Alpha Golf, in Copenhagen (CPH) our BusinessFirst customers are invited to use the Novia Lounge. This lounge offers limited snacks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments, internet, wi-fi. plus the usual array of lounge amenities (like newspapers, telephones, television, etc.).

The Novia lounge is fairly small but adequate for a short visit between the time you need to check in for your flight and head to the gate. In the morning, there will generally be some bread rolls with cheese, butter and preserves if you want a light, continental breakfast. When I've been there at other times of the day, there really isn't any food other than some Danish sugar cookies.

They have coffee (machines with espresso, latte, cappucino, regular coffee, etc.), a variety of sodas, beer and I believe some other alcoholic beverages. Everything is self-serve.

There are some small cafe-type tables with chairs in one area, as well as some comfortable easy chairs in another area (limited seating capacity), and there is a smoking section.

I believe there was a television, if I remember correctly, as well as some magazines and a few newspapers.

CPH = another place where CO PC, CO Platinums and other SkyTeam ElitePlus flying coach get ZERO lounge access when flying CO flights; however, CO Platinums and other SkyTeam ElitePlus get lounge access when flying other SkyTeam carriers from CPH.

The lounge is nothing special -- especially compared to the SAS lounges and even the British Airways lounge at CPH -- but it would still be nice if CO revisited its policy at CPH and many other airports in Europe it serves in regards to providing departure lounge access to CO coach flyers who are ElitePlus and PC members on the same terms it provides departure lounge access to CO business flyers.

This is something I don't understand. SkyTeam ElitePlus status is supposed to get us lounge access at airports with a SkyTeam lounge. Why does it matter which airline we fly if there is a SkyTeam lounge at the airport? All of the cases like this I've seen have excluded CO ElitePlus members. It seems that all ElitePlus passengers are not created equal :td:

I have the same question. Is CO not reciprocating by not letting other ST Elite Plusses into PClubs in the US?

I'm :confused: as well. Is there a SkyTeam lounge in CPH? If the answer is yes, then all ST Elite+ are supposed to have access when flying a ST airline, of which CO is one of them. If the answer is no, then no ST Elite+ (in coach) will have lounge access.

AF and KL provide lounge access to this ElitePlus when flying coach out of CPH, where there is no SkyTeam-operated lounge, whenever I've used my top-tier NW, DL or AZ status to fly AF or KL out of there. CO does not.

The same dynamics are present with lounges at OSL and ARN where there is no SkyTeam-operated lounge either but where KL/AF provide access to ElitePlus members too while CO refuses to for any but BF customers.

There is no ST-operated lounge at CPH, but AF/KL provide ElitePlus (including NW and DL ElitePlus members in coach) with lounge access at CPH. Your latter if-then statement holds for CO-operated flights but it doesn't hold for the AF/KL flights out of there. Apparently, AF/KL are more generous toward SkyTeam ElitePlus members in coach than CO is. :eek:

I'm flying in to CPH in business class, arriving Monday at 6:30, and have to be in Landskrona (Sweden) for my client meeting at 8:30.

Is there any place to take a shower or freshen up?

Wouldn't CO have arrival's facilities at the Hilton hotel or elsewhere nearby? Other than that, the only options I can think of is to pay for gym access at some gym, hotel or otherwise, or do as I've done before and buy a refundable ticket on an SAS flight that grants me lounge access to the SAS lounge at CPH and then go shower there. (I later put in for a refund.)
