Delta Miles on Onepass??

Hi,

I will be flying tomorrow on Delta. I put in my Onepass frequent flyer #, because I'd rather start accruing my miles on Continental than Delta. Anyway, I looked at the website: http://www.continental.com/web/en-US...nce/delta.aspx

and it says:
Frequent Flyer Benefits
Continental OnePass members may earn and redeem miles on any flight operated by Delta Air Lines, Delta Shuttle, and Delta Connection (excludes flights operated by American Eagle and Song). OnePass miles earned on Delta flights count toward Elite status.*

* Miles cannot be combined between the two programs to obtain rewards or Elite status.

What does this mean then? Does this mean that I can't combine the Delta flight miles with my Continental flight miles when I want to book a reward ticket?
For instance, let's say that I have 15,000 miles from flying continental and 10,000 miles from flying delta...and all of these miles are on my continental onepass #, does this mean that I can't combine the 2 airline miles (25,000 miles) and claim a free ticket?

Welcome to Flyertalk.

That means that if you had 15,000 miles in Onepass program and 10,000 miles in Skymiles program you can't combine the two. However, if all 25,000 mile are put in Onepass program, you can use it all on the same reward.

Welcome to Flyertalk.

This is one of the most basic rules of FF programs and has been discussed 1000s of times almost in every airline forum in FlyerTalk.

Here are some examples:

Welcome to Flyertalk.

Continental does not segregate the miles you earn in your OnePass account. Once the miles are earned, they all "combined" together in your OnePass account, regardless of the source (CO Flights, Partner Flights such as DL, NW, etc., Miles from credit cards, etc.). In that sense, CO has already "combined" your miles for you in your OnePass account.

The prohibited combination referred to on the CO site is the combination of miles from a OnePass account, and a SkyMiles account.
