Going for Gold - Need help

My first Posting so please inform of (and forgive) ignorances of etiquette.

I've been Elite Silver for 4 years, but have a personal goal to reach Gold this year. I currently have 40,630 EM and 35 Segments. I'm confused by the % earned on the Discount Economy Fare.

So two questions:
1. I have two trips in the pipeline. Will I earn 100% of the 3650 miles on an I/U fare from LAS to CLE, likewise the 4472 miles LAS to IAH to ORD on an L fare?

2. Even if the next two trips give me 100%, it will leave me 1200 miles short of the required 50k/50 segment. Any ideas for the cheapest way to generate so few Elite Qualifying Miles?

I could do a mileage run (hop). But is it worth it? Should I throw in the towel or go for the gold?

If purchased on CO.com, you should get 100% otherwise, 50%

Matthewski, thanks for clarifying the 50/100%.

Any ideas on earning the measly 1200 EQMs? If need be, could fly a run (or a hop) between 11/18 and 12/3 or 12/10 to 12/31. I'm based in LAS.

It is 60 segments for gold, not 50, but you're most likely to qualify on miles rather than segments anyways.

Any trip you take on CO metal out of LAS is enough to get you the 1200 miles. I'd try looking on ITA and using the 300 mile radius option, specifying a few cities on the east-coast and see what you come up with for the cheapest fares.

Happy flying.

Thanks for the advice. I'm new to this site and this "world". What's ITA?
