Advice on where to sit on 777

I need some advice on where you think that I should sit.

At the end of November I am flying EWR-TLV for my wedding. I will be Y as I am currently not working and studying for my MS, money is not exactly flowing freely. As I am elite I can choose to sit in the first couple of rows of Y or get my bulkhead seat in 32. Should I sit up front and have the ability to plug in my laptop, or take the bulkhead and the extra room that it affords?

(PS. If only Elites are suppossed to be sitting in 32 why not install the EmPower outlets to that row?)

1) Do a search. May I suggest the following terms? 777 sit seat

2) www.seatguru.com

As for your laptop question, it sounds like a personal one. Happy travels!

I checked out seatguru, and I am also familiar with the aircraft as I have been swallowed into the belly of the beast more than enough times the last year. I am just curious what peoples thoughts are, legroom or power.

I am short (5'7). I like power. I like windows. I like embarking late and deplaning early. I think the forward rows are quieter than the ones behind the engines. They also have lower odds of bassinets containing uncomfortalbe children in them. (I love kids, and I usually don't notice them crying, but for EWR-TLV I'd rather not test myself.)

Given all that, I always go for 17A/L. YMMV though. The "short" part helps me a lot in this case, of course.

BTW entropy, I am flying my first BF r/t to TLV in November, and I didn't even have to think about the seat to pick out: Your signature is burned into my consciousness at this point, and I knew where to go without a thought. I picked 3A, of course. (2A was taken. Nothing is ever easy, is it? hehe)

3A works. I just like it further up. Are you on 90 or 84? Either way the view of the city (Especially if you're on the direct approach, if they're looping around you're much higher up) is spectacular. I can spot all my favorite places, that's a big part about why I love that seat.

I'll be there the first week of december. GeoffCo is coming the last weekend I'm there :)

I always sit in 32A or 32L, with earplugs. From that seat I can lean against the fusilage and sleep and I can get up without disturbing the other people in my row. I have actually delayed returns home by a day so I could be in that seat.

Since you are asking about EWR TLV (overnight flight) I agree with randidliyo -- 32 A or 32 L (my favorite). Grab an extra pillow, take some Ambien, and stretch out.

People hanging around the lavs are a bit of a pain, but if you're tired enough, you'll sleep through it.

On flight 90, if the flight is a little late it might be past sunset on Nov-Dec. Views are still spectacular but not as on a daylight landing. If the plane takes the loop around approach you get views of the airport if you seat on the left hand side of the plane. The left hand side of the plane (A seats) gets better views of Tel Aviv all the way through.

Per coach seating, I love the isle seat on the 2-seaters of row 44 on either side. It's the only seat in coach you can stand up and get to the lav at any point including when the food cart is just next to you. The noise from the lav behind is not as bad as it may seems.

I'm on 90...assuming no long delays, we'll be landing with plenty of light still, even despite the time of year. I was on 90 at this exact time last year as well...it'll be sunset, but that's just prettier, IMO. I've only ever been on the right side of the plane before, just due to logistics in past trips. I'm looking forward to the view.

Sounds like we're gonna be there at the same time, actually. I'm in on the 30th, out on the 11th. My only true vacation of the year. :)

It used to be 17 D or F for me. till Co took away 16 & 17 for crew rest. 18 is now for Handi-cap Why you got me as its like any other row, maybe cause its the 1st non-blocked row.

Anyway I tried 32 once and that was once too many. Since the armrests do Not go up and the tray tables are in them it means you have less room in the width of the seat, I liked the extra leg room being 6'2" but didnt like being squeezed into the seat. Also its a pain for me at least every time I wanted to get in or out to have to put the screen away first.

I dont like the Window even in BF, I prefer an aisle seat , in BF that means the middle section where the person next to me has an aisle and no need to have to bother me to get in or out unlike if your on the sides. As for coach the same thing by taking an asile in teh middle section theres only 1 other person who needs to bother youto get out and if the person on the other asile is traveling with them then you got it made as let them bother them the whole trip.

As nice as it is to see Israel or the Alps even more so from the air, Id give that up in a sec in order to have my comforts for the other 10 hrs of the flight. 10 mins of being able to look at TLV is not worth it to to me. One can always hire out a private plane and fly above Israel, you cant get back the sleep you lost by the person asking to let them out or by them waking you as they climb over you to get out , Yes it happened to me in BF numerous times when I had no choice but to sit in the aisle along the sides. also I try for row 4 or 3 in the middle as L2 is the door that is usually used to deboard at TLV and the further up the longer till you get off.

My 1st choice now is 18F (18 D&E are blocked) then 19 D or F. Of cause if 17 wont be used for crew-rest I try to get into my 17 D or F my long time favorites.

Although they might be everywhere on the plane, row 32 is the baby bassinet area and you have better chances to seat next to the screaming baby. Row 16 is also questionable in this aspect although there are no bassinets there.

I love row 32 except for the lack of a window. You CAN lean really far forward to catch a glimpse out of the exit door window.
