Trick to booking codeshare flights? KLM/CO

Here is my dilemma: I am trying to book a reasonably priced ticket for next May from NYC into Dublin and out of Athens. I would like to earn miles on Continental (for my Virgin Miles account....so the flights MUST be coded CO, not KLM). The best priced flights I have found are on KLM but I have played with a number of different search engines, and once or twice I have seen KLM flights coded as CO.

What is the trick for booking KLM flight but getting the flight code to appear as a code share?

Sorry if this is a daft question....I am finally trying to maximize my ff miles, so am a bit new to this.

Just an FYI, I had to take the same route this summer past and I ended up flying on CO metal to Dublin and taking a Malev RT flight from DUB to ATH. It worked out well, but watch your luggage weight coming back from ATH, they screw you if you're over.

Did you not appreciate the answers that you received in the exact same thread that you posted in the MR forum that was eventually moved to the SkyTeam forum? Seriously, posting the same question in three different places is rather uncouth.

And the answer I gave you in the SkyTeam forum still applies. I have no reason to believe that VS will give you credit for a KL operated, CO coded flight, just as CO won't give credit for a CY coded, AZ operated flight. It is not explicitly stated on their site for CO, but I'd still be surprised to see it happen. They do specify that it is not an option for DL coded flights, which is the other question you asked (scroll all the way down).
