CO/Skyteam lounge access?
As I read on co.com, the ability for CO Platinum Elites (ST+) to freely use member lounges when traveling internationally only requires showing a boarding pass for an international SkyTeam flight for the same day, regardless of the ticket class.
Have other Platinums been able to confirm that the stated reciprocity actually works among ST airlines? Also if a CO ST+ is traveling thru the Mexico City airport on an economy ticket from the US can he enter both the CO and Aeromexico lounges? |
STE+ lounge access definitely works, but not all lounge dragons know about it, so bring a printout of http://skyteam.com/EN/benefits/skyteam_eliteplus.jsp
Note that the rules are ambiguous as to WHICH lounge(s) you have access to. You'll almost certainly have access to the lounge operated by the airline on which you're actually traveling (so if flying AM, the AM lounge; if flying CO, the PClub, if connecting from CO to AM, probably both lounges). Trying to convince lounge dragons at other partner lounges that they should let you in is a bit more of a challenge. |

Several times I've used my *G card to get access to their lounges, even when travelling on a ST partner. I find * Alliance to be pretty flexible. |
I've used the NW lounge at SFO when flying AF. Aside from that I've never used the lounge for another ST carrier when the ST airline I was flying had a lounge at the same airport.

I found out something interesting about the Alaska lounges (Boardrooms). AS isn't part of ST, but it does have a good agreement with Continental. At the PC club in SEA, I was told that if had my PC membership card and a boarding pass for an AS flight, I could use any Boardroom in the system. Nice!
