WAP / Mobile tools @ continental.com?

I'm wondering if I'm just blind, but I can't find a WAP interface to Contintental.com. I'd like to be able to check flight status on the way to the airport, but the regular site is too big for the browser on my Treo to handle. What do the rest of you with PDA's use?

Just go to http://wap.continental.com

UA Insider Jul 13, 2006 3:34 pm

The mobile address is http://pda.continental.com/.

OLCI via smartphones/PDA

CO Insider (Great having you answering questions btw),

One thing I would love to see is the ability to complete OLCI via my Treo 650 or any PDA/Smartphone. I can get to the elite access page of the OLCI process but after I hit continue I'm told the site is temporarily unavailable. Of course the site is available because if I go to my PC I can check in without issue.

I'm no web programmer but I assume that there's some web script/application that can't load on my PDA (I've tried several browsers with similar results). It's a small thing but given how hard it is to get an upgrade as a Gold Elite, checking in as early as possible is important. Perhaps this is only an issue on Treos and works fine on other smart phones. I don't know.

Thanks Nesta, I'll ask our development lead to take a look at this. Worth noting, I do know a mobile edition of online check-in for pda.continental.com is in our upcoming development plan (no dates yet).

Wonderful!! I can't load the full CO site on my smart phone, but I do use the current PDA site to check flight status. I'd love to be able to check in online when I'm not around the computer using my phone.

it would be pretty cool to have your BP displayed on your PDA and you just show it at the checkpoint and gate...

That's the direction we're going - we just need to get the authorities on board.

The BP on a PDA is an awesome idea, but good luck with the authorities on that one. Methinks they will approve that idea right after they discontinue the FAM program.... :o

Should be easy enough to download a PDF that you can just call up and have them scan directly from the PDA....

Thanks... .that's the only one I didn't try (wap & mobile both went to the regular site). It might make sense to redirect wap and mobile to the pda site rather than the graphical main site... i can't display it completely using Blazer on my Treo 700p.

Great news

Glad to hear it. Thanks for the quick response.

The current PDA site is very useful. Adding OLCI functionality would make the pda site fully functional.

Before the 'authorities' got involved messing up various customer service initiatives, Delta allowed you to check-in *and* board your flight with your Medallion card only. Passengers needed to show their photoID at the gate along with the Medallion card, whose barcode was scanned, and out popped the bp receipt from the gate printer.

Maybe CO could consider a voice activated check-in option over the phone for those who lack a PDA or a cell phone capable of running a full strength browser. Just speak or type in the number of a fax machine to send the BP, or dip your Elite card at the E-Service kiosk to reprint the BP when you arrive at the airport.

Please fix the mobile flight status!

CO Insider,

As usuall, my Thursday 8:40pm flight is delayed. I fly CLE-MCI every couple of weeks, and the flight always comes in from RIC a couple hours late. Tonight I used the mobile flight status tool, but it only shows the original departure/arrival times, even though both the web site and the VR system have the details of the delay and provide "estimated" departure/arrival times.... this should be fixed; the mobile flight status is about worthless without that information. :(
