Different types of E-class and availability
 
I learned today that ER81 E class availability is not the same as E class availability; meaning, just because E class is available and bookable, it doesn't mean that I can use my ER81 certificate.

I just released two BF EWR-LIS-EWR standard reward seats for 8/15-8/23 if anyone is hoping to use miles to get to Portugal this summer.

Has anyone ever had any success in using an ER81 certificate for BF seats?

Any hints?

Pardon my ignorance, but what is an ER81 certificate? :confused:

Good question, ijgordon. I believe climbermom is referring to ER1181 tickets, which are the free tickets Continental allocates for promotional use.

climbermom, if your ER1181 is from 2005, E class is the correct booking class. If it is from 2006, the fare classes used for transatlantic BusinessFirst are R or F class, depending on the certificate. If your certificate is from 2005, be sure to specify this when calling in. If you have any further problems, please send me a PM, and we'll get it sorted.
