Just curious, how do you know thats supposed to be high quality aged beef?

I remember reading a memo a while back during the start of the mad cow hoopla that addressed concerns over the supply of beef in outstations. It said that at stations where there was any concern, the beef would be flown in. Included was the info about the quality and aging.

It was a little while ago and I'm just going by memory but I'm pretty sure of my recollection.

I was sitting in 3F on my 73G flight this evening, so I got the last choice of meals. I was offered "Beef Medallions on rice with vegetables." It was the now infamous beef tips.

The beef itself was fine, and for the first two or three bites I didn't know what the big deal was. Then I got to one with the nuclear waste yellow sauce on it. Now I know. At least the corn chili soup washed the flavor out of my mouth. That, plus a bottle of wine ;)

Next time I'll be asking for the coach meal should that be all that is available.

Maybe if we put the sauce on the side?

Executive Chef Siegfried Lang discusses the nuclear waste yellow sauce: "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right?"

VP of "Customer Experience" David Grizzle (is that an appropriate name in this circumstance or what?) tries a little too hard to put a positive spin on the nuclear waste sauce: "We're getting all of this nuclear waste out of the environment so we're really doing a great turn for the future of our planet."
