Copa and EQM's
Need to book tickets to South America with one leg on Copa, and have been unable to book through website. If I ticket with agent, only get 50% eqm's. Any way to book online to preserve 100% eqm's? Can easily book on outside website, but of course, not @ 100%. any suggestions? Thanks.

You have to watch the fare classes, some COPA classes don't earn 100% EQM, no matter where you book them, the 100%EQM is for Continental metal only. http://www.continental.com/onepass/e...rline/copa.asp -Vincent |
While this may not always hold true, my past experience booking with COPA has been:
1. I have always received 100% EQMs, even when I booked in a class that should have given 50%. 2. About 1/3 of the time, I received 150% EQMs because my EUA was issued as an "A" class ticket. 3. I always booked on the COPA website and it was always an exercise in futility to view the reservation on CO's One Pass website. CO and COPA are partners, but the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. I finally gave up and let the chips fall where they may, because. . . 4. I received an EUA on every segment of every COPA flight except for one short segment. (25/26 last year). Sometimes I got an email, most times I didn't, buy bottom-line, I got the upgrade. |
Thanks for the suggestions. I've tried the Copa website....crazy thing is you can't book out of IAH on Copa. Only MIA LAX etc. I can book the single segment we need on Copa, but when added to our CO tickets, the price is out of line with phone agent or Travelocity. I will try the first suggestion.

"Receive 2000 OnePass bonus miles when purchasing your tickets on copaair.com. There is no limit as to the amount of times the member can receive this promotion. Make your travel plans now! They are just a click away!" I think that not all CM / CO flights are code share. That's why for instance, you cannot book IAH from Copa's website. There's MIA and LAX in Copa's website, because those are CM metal. |
I've brought this up at the first CO meeting ....

Luckily I'll be in MIA, so don't have to worry about codeshares. BTW, anyone know what the deal is with the "Promo Fares" on Copa.com site? Usually cheaper then "Economy," but not always. Guess I'll have to hope get full EQMs if I purchase online. EmailKid |
