Question about Prestige Pack

According to the CO WEB site the Prestige Pack offers the following:

The Prestige Pack (valued at up to $1,500) for only $135.95.

7,500 bonus miles
One $99 round-trip companion certificate*
Discount certificate - save up to $100 on a Continental round-trip ticket
Two one-visit Presidents Club passes and waiver of new-member initiation fee
And much more ...

I have a question about the $100 discount certificate. Are there any astericks with that? Or is is just a FLAT $100 discount off of any fare? Any other restrictions?

TIA

Hello.
This looks interesting. I'd like to have a closer look. Any clues as to the promotion code?

Restrictions

It is $25 off fares $175-$274, $50 off $275-399 fares, and $100 off $400+ fares.

Certificate is valid for a discount on eligible fares on CO, CO Express/Connection flights but NOT on codeshare flights.

Travel cannot be combined with any other travel discount or OnePass reward, cannot be a discount fare offer, including fares booked in Q, I, T, or X class, cannot be a senior citizen/student/children/convention/tour/group/military/government/joint/interline/bulk/family plan/travel industry discount and also cannot be a competitive match discount fare.
A Saturday night stay is required. All reservations ticketing and travel restrictions of the fare purchased apply.
A ticket purchased with this discount -is- eligible for OnePass mileage crefit.

Oh sweet. Here's the lower fares between LAX and NYC:

1 TD71SNN R 248.00
2 SR71SNN R 298.00
3 QR21BVN R 328.00

So the first and the third cannot be used. The $298 fare would qualify for a $50 discount, but would be $50 more than the lower T fare.

Net savings: ZIPPO.

Thanks Continental!

You 're right in this case. The coupon really only works when you apply it where LOWEST fare is $400 or more.

I just used it on a flight to YUL in V. no problem.

ssullivan Mar 3, 2006 6:45 pm

I've used it before to book a higher fare class for just a little more than a lower fare class. Why? For better upgrade chances. And it's worked too.

For example, I've used the coupon on an N fare on IAH-SAN. At the time I booked the ticket, the N fare minus $100 for the coupon was only $15 more than the lowest available fare, which was a U fare.

I was upgraded both ways, and in one case was the last person upgraded. I doubt I would have been upgraded on the U fare, which was only $15 less. So in essence, I paid $15 more to greatly increase the odds of an upgrade.

:D

I can certainly appreciate the logic that was used there, ssullivan! ^

Well, Continental, my numbers don't add up to be anywhere near that number. Fuzzy math?

Anyway, is this an e-cert? And only usable online?

Don't they also limit the discount to $20, if you're flying out of EWR, IAH or CLE?

I believe that limit was only on the coupons provided from the Chase/CO Worldcard "benefit package" after annual renewal fee is paid.

No - not with the prestige pack coupon.

You could always use it to YUP or on a Z fare.

:D YUP is a nice city. Which is it? :D :D
Putting joking aside, I'll have to see once I receive my Prestige Pack in a couple weeks time and see how to use it.
Mileage Run to Europe or California!

YUP? it'd have to be in canada somewhere.. and all the flights there are in an all-first configuration! Of course, they only sell full fare tickets..

mrpaulus Mar 9, 2006 3:45 pm

had to mail it in

I had to mail in my coupon to houston. The flight was ticketed only after the coupon was processed. Did other people need to mail in the coupon? Also, I can to call CO before completing the transaction so they could mark as being used with a coupon.

Is that the same as other people's experience?
