New ERJ Seats?

This morning I flew IAH-DFW on an ERJ-145 that seemed to have different seats than the ones I've seen on other COEX equipment. These seats were a much darker shade of blue, and seemed to have more padding in both the seat cushion and the back. I noticed it as soon as I sat down -- there was definitely more cushioning there, and I didn't get the numb feeling I usually do on my almost weekly ERJ trips. And the color of the leather upholstery was definitely different. At the Do Larry mentioned they were looking at what they could do to improve seat comfort on the ERJs, but I haven't seen any official announcement that new seats were coming. Is it possible they're maybe testing out new seats?

Maybe this was one of the new aircraft being delivered from Embraer and they decided to upgrade the interior with new seat covers?

I doubt it. The aircraft was most definitely not new -- it looked more worn than most of the ERJs I've flown recently so my assumption is it's one of the older planes in the fleet. And the remaining ERJ firm orders are for the ERJ-145XR, and this was not the XR version (no winglets). But the seats -- they looked very new.

Interesting.
