Elite miles WITHOUT flying
Lately I keep seeing information about being able to receive EQMs without flying, yet I haven't seen an actual opportunity to do so. Did anybody see such thing or was I just fantasizing?

Amtrak is the only way I know of. You can either take the Acela Express between NYP and WAS or BOS, or you can take the CO codeshare Amtrak metal flights (but those require a connection to an actual CO flight at EWR).

Mastercard ran a targetted promo last year that gave some EQM for a sign up bonus for their World Master Card. I think it was 2500 EQM.

This could be an easy way to pick up some segments, especially in first class. Of course, Amtrak is often more than the corresponding flight to these cities!
Hard to do that in a plane... :) |
