Switching between Terminal A & C
I have a flight arriving into Terminal A and need to catch a connecting flight out of Terminal C. Do I have to exit security to get to terminal C or is there another option?
|
You have to exit security, take the monorail to the other terminal, and reclear security. There is no other way to do this at present.
|
...and...depending on the time of day you're making the connection, allow for plenty of time to do it. Late evening, off hours, it can be done in 30 minutes...but during peak times, make sure you have at least 60 minutes of connect time.

Which A and C, IAH Or EWR??
See my other post for A to C at IAH. For IAH its onto a bus planeside for CO Connection Colgan to B and then C. A second bus takes pax into A for Delta etc. A to C last Wednesday took 10 minutes and no monorail. :D

Why doesn't CO operate a bus for these passengers?

I did this yesterday and misconnected - ended up having to spend the night in EWR. CO agent wanted to put me at the Howard Johnson which I refuse to ever stay at again once was enough. After some back and forth and getting a supervisor involved I stayed at the Doubletree (which use to be a Wyndham).

I did JAX-EWR-BOS on a 45-minute connection last week, into C and out of A, and just barely made it -- and only because I could use the fast-track security line at Terminal A. If I had had to stand in the regular security line I would've missed my onward. Crazy. I don't see why there isn't an airside shuttle similar to what they used to lay on at IAH between E concourse and the ExpressJet terminal.

i hate this situation. hopefully, it can be discussed at the "DO" (or whatever the pow-wow with Continental management in January 2006 is called). ;)

The switch to A has only been a few months now, right? I'd be surprised if CO isn't working on something to deal with this, but hasn't rolled it out yet. While a number of people on the flights into and out of A are O&D, it doesn't seem like it's worth the risk for them to ignore the people who are connecting tightly.

The bus, although not always reliable, runs at IAH only - there is no bus at EWR. There should be.

gate transfers
It just goes to show how helpful FTers can be. Eleven posts and we don't yet know which airport the OP was asking about.
 BT |

Let's take bets on which airport prncess674 is talking about.
I believe that she is referring to IAH as she is from the New Orleans area and will probably be on a Continental Connection flight connecting to a mainline. |
