Delta screwed me 9 years ago on a berevment(sp) fare and I started flying CO, now CO screwed me and I'll start flying NW, AA or UA, probably NW since I can keep my plat status next year with CO and try to get battlefield upgrades.[/QUOTE]

Sounds like you're becoming quite a victim. I've had experiences just as bad as your CO experience on both AA and UA... Fly often enough, and you will on ANY airline. Remember, you have no guarantee this will never happen on any other airline.

And switching to NW - you can count on a similar experience before you know it -unless you can avoid connecting through ANY of their hubs....

so, never again.. SFO - DTW - HPN my new route, or SFO - DTW - BOS, never again will I fly into EWR.... EVER.

All you want..and then what? You got your email saying they agreed it sucked - and it made no difference, so why would you say that's "all I want"....

Have fun in those RJ's at HPN since that's all NW flies there, at least you'll never have to worry about an upgrade. And combining BOS and DTW on the same route on a regular basis...you're really asking for trouble!

wqcoleman~
I'm sorry to hear about your horrific experience. I don't blame you for how you are feeling. I would probably have needed a tranquilizer by the time I got off the plane. Something similar to your experience once happened to me about four years ago. What a nightmare. After getting basically the same response you received, I swore NEVER to fly Continental again. But ya know what? I've earned Silver (as I am strictly a casual vacationing kind of traveler) again this year on Continental. The bottom line is, most of the time they are the best airline out there. Maybe you just need a break from them. Cool down, and then try them again. ;)

So I was on 348 EWR-SFO last night, and we're almost under the same predicament. We had to leave the gate within 30 minutes of scheduled pushback, but had a 3.5 hr ATC delay into SFO due to weather. We were lucky to leave within about an hour of pushback, so ended up with an hour and a half delay. Par for the course, I guess.

I should have taken the direct flight from AMS, but I needed the extra miles from the EWR connect to get double plat again this year, and the KL flight was 3.5 hours late as well, anyway.

I was going to rant, until I found this post. Now it's just a me too, me too!

COFF-Platinum: If the OP has his way, your flight would have never left the gate, and you'd have slept on the floor in EWR last night; hopefully you MIGHT be on your way right now.

Absolutely, my point exactly. Instead of 3.5 hours late, or never leaving at all, we got there an 1.5 hr late.

Facts are facts. But there are many ways to present the facts. Three tips from a former airline employee:

1. Be as OBJECTIVE as possible (think newspaper tone)

2. Try to be non-threatening (say that you will strongly consider taking your $xx,xxx travel budget elsewhere -- no need to name specific airlines).

3. Express disappointment in succinct way -- as a Platinum Elite member, I was extremely disappoint at how this matter was handled.

No need to be NICE about it, just be as objective as possible.

Nothing

Double Plat = Plat on CO and Plat on FB. It get's me nothing extra. I had already got plat on FB earlier in the year, and was 22K short for CO.

AMS-EWR-SFO-IAH-AMS in Z/D will get me 23K EQM as a European resident, for just 2300 Euro's. AMS-SFO-AMS on KL in J get's me 16K EQM for 5600 Euro's.

I just couldn't give up my CO plat which I 've had for the last 7 years. CO treats me nice :-)
