ewr-las on a 753

is the 753 the reincarnation of the dc-8?

i flew this today and was amazed on what a miserable seat i was in - 17c. i know that it is impossible to score an upgrade (i am a plat, but flying on a $300 fare).

the FAs never sat down always up and down the aisle (probably not a bad thing) but impossible to avoid rolling carts hitting your shoulder.

12 seats in first , with an unbelievable amt of seats in coach

It's not the fare, but this plane's horrible first/coach ratio. I just did EWR-LAS-EWR for $225 last weekend and got upgraded both ways on 757-200s (one intl config and one domestic).

The 757-300 is longer than the DC8-62, itself a mighty long plane. It's not quite as long as the -63, however.

As I remember the DC-8 (and B707) had far more comfortable and well-worn seats. And far better pitch too. The new molded foam seats in the B753, B767 and B777 dont fit my butt or back very well.
