Copa is weird.....

It wouldn't be as weird if they were just some random airline, but CO owns half, and they fly souped up CO 737NG's.

I flew ORF/EZE on a FC reward using CO and COPA. I had to book it through the Elite desk at CO because there is no "valid" connection at PTY, so no codeshare. Using CO metal requires an overnight stop at PTY from either EWR or IAH -- Riande airport hotel w/breakfast and shuttle was $50/double + $20 airport tax. The PTY/EZE leg is on COPA metal.

COPA is now showing JFK/EZE via PTY flight but I don't know how you would connect at JFK with CO since CO serves NY almost 100% from EWR.

The CO agent was very helpful and our flights on COPA were excellent, albeit on 737 metal. We routed home via IAH and took advantage of the free stopover to visit family in Texas. Next time we plan to stopover in PTY and take a one day canal cruise.
