You cannot buy a ticket on every flight out?!?
To get home from Dallas I wanted to PURCHASE a full Y fare on the first 4 flights out of DFW on Sunday.
My original flights (5) home have been canceled so I call the elite desk to change my flight. In the process, the lady told me “I cannot book tickets on all the flights.” I told her I was not reserving, but buying the tickets. She just said I could not do that and that was the end of the argument. My fear is that my flight will be canceled and I will be on stand by until late next week. I realize I am taking the seats on the flights, but I need to cover my bases. Any thoughts? |
Redeem reward tickets...if you are platinum, you could redeposit with no fee.

Try CO.com. Web reservations have always allowed me to hold impossibly conflicting flights, without batting a digital eye.

I'm not as familiar with CO, but I know AA has a check to make sure you don't have conflicting reservations. But the only way they can really enforce this is with FF # (otherwise they may stop 2 John Smiths from flying at the same time). So if CO does something similar, just buy the Y tickets and don't give 'em your FF #.

The Super Dupe Snooper™ will get ya if you don't watch out!
Super Dupe Snooper™ provides Continental the means to detect and remove duplicate reservations, dramatically reducing the variability of no-show levels and reducing spoilage. |
All of that argument was for nothing – I ended up getting a ride to Houston today.
Now to see if my flight to SJU will fly tomorrow. I have now learned a valuable lesson. |
