PC access with BP only
Traveling ORD-IAH-(GRU)-GIG in Y recently, I got static from lounge dragons in both ORD and IAH when showing only my boarding pass, upon which my CO Plat status was clearly printed. In both lounges, I ended up having to show my AF Platinum FB card for access.
Clearly CO Plat status entitles one to lounge access on an international itinerary. The attendant in IAH actually said that they give access to CO Plat, but only with the physical card (I didn't have mine with me). I've never had problems in AF lounges showing only a BP with status printed on it. Anyone had similar results? |
The lazy lounge dragons usually prefer to swipe the other guys Elite+ card than to copy the card info in order to get the other guys money. They can get back to gabbing to each other much sooner that way (or never stop gabbng).

At KL lounge at AMS plats were turned away if the didn't have their card. This must be a skyteam requirement since other lounges are asking for it.
At last a reason to carry my card with me. |
Don't feel bad: Oneworld frequently plays this game too. BA is the worst offender.

On a recent trip EWR-PHX-IAH-PVR-ZLO-IAH-PHX-EWR, I didn't bother to take out my One Pass card, just showed my BP which clearly said "Platinum / Sky Team Elite Plus" and said "this is my companion" they typed something and said the Matron "enjoy your stay"
Both times at IAH, 9/2 @ Terminal E (out bound) and then 9/5 @ Termincal C President's Club South (inbound). One minor issues was on the inbound, the Matron was confused at why I was asking for entry,t hen I explain "Elite Plus on an International Intn" and she was "oooo you are right - sorry" -Vincent |
