Any hints?
I am trying to make reservations for my parents to fly from CLE to DEN for Xmas. On the CO website today I got a companion fare of $254 ea which was lower than the senior fare. Is this good rate? Both flights are nonstop. It seems like everytime I make a reservation better rates come along. All of you seem to have so much knowledge. I'd appreciate any ideas.

The answer to your question, from one who lives close to CLE and travels to DEN occasionally, is yes it is a pretty good price. Would I wait for a cheaper fare - no, but that's me. I'm sure others might. Concerning your topic title - http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/eek.gif

If money's tight can go Greyhound at $158 each on a 7 day advance purchase senior fare.
The Greyhound coaches are more comfy then CO's Jungle Jets, and you get to meet a lot of strange but interesting people. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif Who's payin' anyway, you or Mom and Pop? |

$254 is a good fare. You should really try to get them on a mainline jet (737-300/500) - the RJ is not great for a ~3 hour flight.
UA flies DEN-CLE nonstop with the same little 737s - you might want to check those fares also. Too bad Frontier isn't on that route. |
