CO on NW metal question

Can't figgure out how to search this one, so I thought I'd ask...

I'm flying a CO ticket on NW metal and I could not pick seats from the OnePass website so I went to NW and was able to enter the confirmation number and pick exit row seats. The seats show up on NW, but I get "-" on CO's page.

My question - when it gets to be time to check in, should I do it with NW, or CO? Will it make any difference?

TIA

I believe you need to check-in with NW.

As a CO Plat who flies on NW, your WP number transfers over to their system as a Plat. You check in on the NW site. You can pick any seat in coach and once the five day window hits and you get your upgrade, the FC screen opens up and you can choose your seat. Some flights on heavily traveled routes like DTW to LAX, you may have to wait till the day of travel. When that happens, I always check in right at the 24 hour mark and request the upgrade. Some say it does not make a difference, but I have yet to not make the upgrade from the stand-by list.

Good luck!

This weekend I flew a mixed itinerary.

NW-issued tickets but one segment on CO metal and one on NW.

When I flew CO to NW, I checked in CO. When I flew NW connecting to CO, I checked in NW. In each case I was able to check in both segments.
