i had 2 of these back-to-back on CO before... its SSSS all the way. arrive early. i find the experience less annoying if i stay cheerful through the ordeal ("... you might as well enjoy it")

How do you get a prior passport scan?
|
If you have status or have been with CO for at least 20,000 miles, ask them to de-select you when you check in, if they don't do it automatically.

Quote from the Washington Post article posted by someone above:
"Douglas R. Laird, former head of security for Northwest Airlines, said the proposal was a step backward. Laird said exempting certain categories of passengers from security screening would be dangerous because trusted groups have occasionally abused the privilege. "In an effort to be customer friendly, they're forgetting that their primary requirement is to keep airplanes safe," Laird said. "Either you screen everybody or why screen anybody?" " I completely agree with his statement. -RM |
A few weeks back on Fox News Geraldo was doing a piece on TSA and made a very good point...if a terrorist check's in and see the SSSS on their boarding pass they'll likely not get on the flight or go back to the car and put the grenade away...lol.
In all actuality this would deter them in this situation, but would not allow us to catch them. IMO, if they are gonna do these screens it should all be internal...maybe have a computer at the checkpoint that alerts them to who needs checking. Just a thought. |
