IS THE "CO"AST CLEAR?

Inquiring minds want to know: are things back to normal on the CO board? Excuse me, I mean, as much as they were ever normal in the first place. Now, is it safe to post on the CO board without turning the FT into a forum for invective or should we take a holiday? Maybe one south of the border perhaps?

Speaking of taking a holiday - can someone recommend which FC service to Cancun from LAX (on CO or a CO codeshare) is best?
I am leaning toward LAX/EWR/CUN on CO but might take LAX/MSP/MEM/CUN on NWA metal or LAX/CUN on Alaska metal instead.

Any ideas?

You might want to keep your helmet on. There's still some "CO"nversational "CO"mbat going on.

Yeah, I thought so. There is one in particular who might benefit from a weekend away in Cancun. It might do them some good. ESPECIALLY if they sat in first (for a change?) on the way down there...........

I've come over to see what all the fuss is about. It's a slow morning here in London.

I think the lawyer who was wont to post his invective-filled legal-brief sized posts in the Randy Petersen Forum has been "disbarred." I see he's no longer up in the air.

Coast is clear - back to our regularly scheduled programming, "Gordon Bethune Smackdown!"

EXCUSE ME -- a legitimate question was asked. If you can't keep to the topic then please don't post.

Well, re. the CUN question (although technically CUN is not related to the topic title)....

If you're traveling on an award, I wouldn't say F service into CUN is that fantastic as to warrant extra transit/connection time that cuts into beach time. So, I would opt for the Alaska nonstop. Since it's an award, you won't earn miles, so there's not that incentive to take a longer routing. You'll likely find better award availability on Alaska, anyways. The CO and NW F service to Mexico will be on par with domestic coach F, but with a little better food.

If you're paying for the ticket, then from a pure mileage standpoint, the MSP-MEM routing will net about as many miles as a single MSP connection, and slightly less than a DTW connection- depending on when you travel, seasonal flights may be available. You would earn the most miles on the CO EWR connection. But you know that.....

So, mileage considered, and assuming the Elite upgrade will be much more secure on NW than on CO, you may consider it a matter of if the 500 mile difference for DTW vs. EWR travel is worth the better chances of upgrading. Alaska wouldn't allow NW/CO elite upgrades at all. If I were you, I would go for a single NW connection via DTW and elite upgrade.

I hope you find an answer to your question somewhere in the above post..... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif
