How about a thread with info about requesting matched status?
 

How about starting a thread with info about addresses to write to (or fax numbers) and responses people have had for requests for matched status? Will make it easier for all those in the wave behind you.

Would be especially interested to hear if NW is matching anyone's CO or DL status. Or any other helpful details from experiences with other programs. Might as well speed up the exodus, eh?

I doubt that NW will match CO or DL status--I am a DL and UA elite (GM and PremEx, if it matters), but my workplace has basically switched mo over to CO in the last month or so. I called about getting comped to CO, and they told me that they won't match DL b/c of the alliance, but *would* match UA if I brought in my current card plus statment.

So I did.

It's actually easier to get UA to do it, b/c they will accept a fax of your statement. If you call their FF800 number and explain what you want to do, they will connect you to the dept that handles comps. It's quick, easy and painless.

Would be very curious to know if AA has matched anyone's status... would much prefer a comp to a challenge.

My data is a tad old (Jan 2002) but AA only comped my CO Plat to AA Gold-- and instantly enrolled my in Plat challenge.

In my very, very, very rudimentary observation of the AA board discussion of same over the last year or so I would say less than 25% of CO Plats who request AA comp get better than AA Gold (entry level.)

But perhaps AA has a new directive in place in light of recent events.
