BF IAH-OGG
Recently took this route. Since several have asked about BF to Maui, here are some of my experiences.
Overall, about same service as BF IAH-HNL. Same 767 BF seats. Printed menues (4 selections). However, 1) asked for champagne on baording - told it (and the white wine) arrived unchilled. Took till 1 hr after takeoff for first drink; 2) only one red wind; 3) the "warm nuts" were party mix! -- my bowl had three peanuts in it; 4) toppings for ice cream were VERY skimpy - had to ask for a second spoonful of 'straswberry,' and it still did not come up to a normal level! But overall, I did enjoy the flight very much. But still missed that on-boarding drink! So, in summary, very similar to any CO BF flight to HA. |
What about the return service? Was it a full meal (with 4 choices) or the abbreviated 2-choice service? Just assorted breads for breakfast? I was hoping that the BF was the 20 seat configuration, but so for the flight I booked is the higher capacity BF..
Thanks for the update! |

Hey Zip,
How are the Mai Tai's? I am thinking of bringing my own bottle of Myers Dark Rum for the FA's to spike our Hawaiian cocktail-yes, I'll share too. I've heard CO doesn't carry the libation. |

With all these wine chillers they talked about getting installed on the 777s and 767s a few years ago, I'm surprised we get warm champagne and wines as often as we do on international runs. Personally, some wine with dinner is about the extent of my drinking on long-hauls, but even I got tired of the Wolf Blass after a while, so I'm no expert on the performance of the wine chillers. I can only go on the experiences of my seatmates (when applicable), and it's definitely hit-or-miss.

Just curious, were there amenity kits on either flight?
|
Just flew to IAH-OGG yesterday. Yes on the amenity kits. See my post in:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum20/HTML/008683.html Unlike zip's, our Ice Cream Sundae cart was very well stocked and had plenty of everything. 4 entrée selections...1) a huge grilled steak, 2) surf (shrimp) and turf (steak), 3) free range chicken, or 4) Pasta Bowl. BBQ beef sandwich plate before landing. |
