Geneva BF Lounge?
I'll be flying BF from Geneva to EWR in late August. There doesn't seem to be a Continental lounge there, but do BF passengers have access to any other lounge in the Swiss portion of the airport?

yup - you get to use the Horizons lounge, which is the Swiss lounge. Don't get your hopes up - it's comfy enough and decent coffee, but not much else ... if you're lucky, because the EWR flight leaves so early, you might get some croissants and fruit. The lounge is one level up from the main departure area - look for the escalator to the far right after passport control and just between the chocolate shop and duty free store.
On the plus side, it's a small airport with standard security, so no need to arrive hours early. The BF Continental check-in is pleasant and relatively (for Switzerland) fast. One tip on food at the airport: as mentioned, you can get a decent coffee in the lounge. If you're looking for something more substantial, there's a new cafe on the mezzanine level (one up from check-in) to the right of passport control (but BEFORE you go through passport control) which has acceptable sandwiches and snacks and much better than you'll find once you've cleared passports. Final tip: if you're travelling with small children, there is an almost unknown secure play area on the same level as the Horizons lounge, but on the left side instead of the right. We've always had A-1 flights on that route in BF, so happy flying. |
