Seafood Meals

Anyone ever order a special seafood meal for dinner in domestic first?

I did it for lunch once and will NEVER do that again... it was a salad with 3 shrimp.
Never had the soup seems so desirable!

What happens if you order a seafood meal for breakfast?

The seafood meal is a bust. Sorry you found out the hard way. There is no special seafood meal for breakfast, you will just get what everyone else gets.

What the H**L does this "congress of chefs" do anyway?

I guess I was hoping for Shrimp Creole or something like it.

Thanks for the input.

They decide whether there will be a capital gains tax cut.

or Au Bon Pain. even they know it's better than Miami Subs.

Since the shrimp salad is a regular lunch choice, I'm not at all surprised.

For dinner, I once received fish with rice & teriyaki sauce. Not bad.

That sounds a little better.
...a little.

When flying EWR-Texas I often order the seafood meal. I usually get about 6 shrimp, plus a salad, plus sometimes smoked salmon.

It isn't a hearty meal, but I see all domestic airline meals (perhaps except F trancon) as a snack anyway-and the seafood is a light and healthy snack.

The congress of chefs does about as much as their namesake and about as well.

I had a delicious seafood breakfast this morning Gaum-Chuuk; it was the hot offering in F. (Got to give CO Mike credit for serving not only hot breakfast to F, but also to Y --all on a 90 minute flight!!)

Anyways, it was a seafood omlette --an omlette with cheese & crabmeat, covered in shrimp (at least 6-7 decent size shrimp) and an asparagus-cream sauce. It came with some breakfast potatoes and standard fruit plate / cinamon roll/bread side.

(Also had a great seafood dinner Majuro-Honolulu... it was steamed/grilled sampler of salmon, local white fish, shrimp, scallops, and grilled vegetables.. with a tangy cream sauce.)

But in the middle of the Pacific, I suppose fresh seafood meals are easy to come across http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Seafood meals on Continental are usually a better way to go than the glop everyone else gets. often, it's some variation of shrimp, usually cold. But the helpings are ample and you usually get envious stares from the guy across the aisle as he gets splattered as his fork digs into his watery Chicken Kiev.

Alas, seafood meals are becoming an endangered species aloft. AA no longer offers them (at least they didn't to LHR) and NW long ago banished them to memory. I'm flying Air Pacific next week. I have seafood meal reserved, though it's not listed as a choice on the website the agent said it was available. We'll see.

Ordered the seafood in coach on the CLE->LGW flight last month. Turned out to be a thick filet of something (salmon) with rice & brocolli. It was not half bad.

On the flip flop I was also up for the seafood. The FA came around to hand distribute the meal specials prior to aisle carting the standard meals. She handed me my meal, which had the label "seafood" printed on the cover. I looked and it was a ham and cheese sandwich.

Suspecting a mistake, I popped into the galley to point out that I ordered the seafood, but this was ham. She looks at me like, yeah? I explained that I had requested seafood. She flat dead-eyes me. She then says she can take it back if I don't want it. Lesson for me: if they declare it seafood, it is seafood, what's the problem?
