meals
Couple of questions on meals... i normally fly US in first, so I don't know what to expect in coach on Continental...
flying From Pit-IAH at 625a then IAH-ACA at 1155a in coach. What kind of meal can I expect? I am vegetarian, so that would be even more helpful, but even otherwise, what can i expect. next week I am flying IAH-DCA at 651p, any idea what kind of meal to expect there? |
On the PIT-IAH segment, I would expect a muffin/pastry/bagel with drinks.
On IAH-ACA and IAH-DCA, you can expect a cold sandwich (turkey/ham) with chips and a chocolate. Maybe a piece of fruit or carrots, too. If you order a veggie meal you'll probably get a veggie burrito that you'll have to ask the FAs to heat up for you - unless you like them frozen. Just be sure to order at least 24hrs in advance of your flight. |
Just swiped this from airliners.net .
Seems pretty accurate, with a few exceptions. Coach: Breakfast is a muffin on flights of 90 minutes to 3.5hrs Lunch and dinner is a cold sandwich with chips, a fruit, and a candy bar on flights 2hrs-3.5hrs Breakfast is a bowl of cereal, milk, and a banana on flights 3.5hrs+ (non-transcon) Lunch and dinner is a hot sandwich with chips, a fruit, and a candy bar on flights 3.5hrs+ (non-transcon) Breakfast is a hot or cold choice with assorted fruit, a bagel, and a muffin on transcon flights (EWR-West Coast, Alaska, and Hawaii ONLY) Lunch and dinner are two hot choices, a small salad, a warmed dinner roll, and a piece of cake for dessert (Same as breakfast, transcon/Alaska/Hawaii flights from EWR) Red Eye snack is a cold sandwich, assorted fruits, cookies, candy, crackers, and cheese (CO 76 HNL-LAX and all late-night West Coast-EWR departures) In coach, tray meals are only served on the domestic long hauls out of EWR. (EWR-ANC/HNL/LAX/SFO/SAN/PDX/SNA/SEA/YVR/SJC/OAK). Flights from IAH and CLE to the West Coast, IAH-Northeast, and EWR midcon flights (LAS/PHX/DEN) get the non-transcon 3.5hrs+ service. First Class (summer): All meals: Under 2 hours cold plate is served Breakfast: Hot breakfast sandwich is served with fruit and a bagel or cinnamon roll (2hrs-3.5hrs) Lunch and Dinner: Salad or hot sandwich is served with hot soup, a warmed dinner roll, and crackers. Separate dessert course usually is a piece of cheesecake (2hrs-3.5hrs) Breakfast: First course is a fruit plate with a toasted bagel or warmed cinnamon roll, entree is a hot (eggs or pancakes) or cold (cereal) choice, hot choice served with potatoes, bacon, ham, or sausage, cold choice served with milk, banana, and strawberries. After breakfast, fresh baked cookies are offered. (3.5hrs+, non-transcon, IAH/CLE-West Coast, EWR-LAS/PHX/DEN) Dinner: First course is a salad, followed by entree which is either a hot sandwich or hot prepared dish (lasagna, pasta, meat, fish, etc), served with crackers, a dinner roll, and several sides. Dessert is ice cream sundae for dinner flights, or fresh baked cookies for lunch. (Same as breakfast, but EWR-IAH/AUS/SAT flights do not serve ice cream, cheesecake usually served) Breakfast: First course is a large fruit plate served with warmed rolls, bagels, and buns with butter and fruit preserves, yogurt. Entree is one of four choices, usually eggs, cereal, french toast, pancakes, crepes, lox, etc. with various sides unique to each menu choice. After breakfast, fresh baked cookies are served, and a fruit, cheese, and cracker service is offered prior to arrival. (Transcon and EWR-Alaska) Transcon Lunch and Dinner is almost identical to the options found on Continental.com for International BusinessFirst service. |
As a US Chair, why not try to get comped status with CO or NWA? Might get a seat in F for your trip next week.
