1 Gold upgrades before 2 Plat(s)
 

Just trying to comprehend this ---
On a waitlist for HNL to EWR.
Presently there are 2 of us both Plat on 1 res # --top of the wait list.

A single Gold was upgraded over us and all other plats as the Gold was a single res?
The Gold is on a K fare as we are.

Is this the correct pecking order?

Maybe there was only one open seat.

That's the way it works. It's a good idea to split the itinerary when going on the waitlist for a mileage upgrade. It's very possible that one of you will be upgraded before the other, but you'll both likely clear eventually.

You are, of course, taking the risk that one will be upgraded and not the other by the 72-hr window, but you can always downgrade at the gate and redeposit the miles.
