When does Continental allocate seats to FF?

I just tried to find seats for next Xmas for a date that is now on the schedule (20Dec) but there has been no allocation of the cheaper seats, when does that happen at Continental??

Nobody knows. It's done by the great revenue management computer system. There is no fixed date that seats are dropped into inventory. All you can really do is check on-line daily. And if you don't have status w/ CO, it'll be even harder to find seats. You might consider lookig at NW instead. They seem to make seats available at standard reward levels more frequently, while CO makes you pay "sleazyPass" mileage levels. Good luck!

Spence:

Sorry to say, but it may never happen. (If it does it will likely be the day after you drop 50k miles/seat).

Last year I was trying to buy 4 cheap (<$100) seats r/t CLE-STL between Christmas and 12/31. (My fault for not jumping on WN's sale.)

I watched the fare buckets on ITN for about 6 months but CO never released the Q/T fares. Both a PClub agent AND a telephone agent told me the seats would be released after Labor Day.

It never happened.

When it didn't happen, it ended up buying the seats on Orbitz (CLE-DTW-STL-CLE) for $86. That fare was posted for one day only.

Like Duxfan says, you've got to check every day. Even then it might not happen.

Good luck and safe travels.

Thanks, but I was asking about frequent Flyer mileage tickets not paid tickets.

I believe it's the same principle--just more severe re FF tix http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif.
I was just looking at flights to Quebec City in June & Vancouver/Seattle near Labor Day on NW/CO without FF availability. I know that that's high season, but sold out of awards 8 months in advance?
