Xtra legroom seats

Xtra legroom seats
When you look under preview seats , the bulkhead and exit row seats are listed as xtra legroom seats available for extra charge.

Am I to assume that these seats are not available for free to Premium customers as they would be on competing airlines such as Delta and United.

I am a new Status Match Platinum, so have no experience yet with using the website.

Bulkheads aren't generally released until 2 days out. The emergency exit rows are free for OnePass Golds and Plats to book at anytime. Once the bulkheads are released, the same rules apply. Silvers and non-elites can pay after purchasing the ticket for these seats. Once OLCI opens, Silvers can also book remaining ELRs for free.

Excuse me, if my question already as been answered in an other thread

Does CO also offer free Xtra legroom seats to Star Alliance Gold members?

No. To get the seats free from booking, you must be one of the following:
  • OnePass Gold or higher
  • Mileage Plus 1P or higher
From OLCI, you must be OP elite or MP elite to get the seats for free. Everyone else must pay the regular price.

That might not be true anymore. Other posters have seen bulkheads available to at least Plats in advance. I grabbed such seats last week for a flight next week.

^Have several CO flts this month & was able to book bulkhead for all.

Just curious, did this change when they started making ELRs available from booking to everyone?
