Cancelled flight
 

I was on scheduled on a CO Express flight out of EFD to IAH the other day that was cancelled due to bad weather. CO EX put us on a taxi to IAH. NO problem there. However, the rest of my miles posted for this trip but of course the miles for the EFD IAH miles didn't. Now I'm 72 (yes only 72) miles short of plat for 2002. Obviously I would be awaiting my new card if it had not been cancelled and the miles had posted as have the other segments for this day. What do you think? I have written them. Will this be a 'okay' or will they tell me to 'earn' these 72 miles (even though I think I have already had the flight not been cancelled). No other flights are possible..in europe until next year...so that's not an option.

You "should" still be able to get those points. Explain the situation the to OnePass Service Center, and tell them you didn't get Platinum because of a cancelled flight. You should still get credit for it, especially if bumps you to a Platinum status.

Back in the good old days when CO served CAK, they used to cancel CAK-CLE segments at the drop of a hat. Usually, they pulled our flight coupons and put us in a van to CLE. But if the miles didn't show up, a letter with copy of the receipt/itinerary got the miles to post to the account.

Mom Duxfan misconnected at EWR to Europe this summer because of "weather" and was reaccomodated on DL. After sending a ltter to CO, the milees and segments showed up in her account, plus the DL miles she earned.

Be sure to request both mile and segment credit, otherwise CO might just give you the 500 miles that don't count towards credit.

I would guess that if you are only 72 miles short of Platinum status, you'll get it after Jan 1 even if your EFD-IAH segment doesn't post. But, I'd still make it a point to try to get it credited. If it were me, I'd call the OnePass service center, explain the situation, and see what they say. I've always had a good experience using this method.

In my experience, it's much better when sending in boarding passes etc. in unusual situations to be able to say "I spoke with Agent X at the OnePass Service Center and they said that you'd do Y for me if I sent in the documentation." Hopefully, Agent X has noted your account (ask them to do so!) so that when the correspondence is received, you just get credit for whatever Agent X told you, as opposed to a new person making a judgement call without you being able to converse with them.
