Two credit cards/one ticket??
I'm getting ready to book an international trip that will involve both work and vacation. For fare reasons, I'd like to book both my personal and business flight segments on the same ticket.
Does anyone know if it's possible to use two credit cards to pay for the same ticket? For example, if the total ticket price is $3055, could I charge $1255 to one card and $1800 to a different one? I know that you can't do this on the Web site, but could a travel agent or Continental reservations process that kind of transaction?
Thanks very much.

You would be better off charging it all on one card and then giving or receiving reimbursement.
The challenge will be finding a way to separate out the segment costs.

I have done this before, for the exact same reason, without a problem.

I'm glad to hear that, ColombianoNtx.
Did you call Continental reservations or did you use a travel agent? Was there anything in particular you had to tell them?
Also, do you happen to know if it's okay for e-tickets, paper tickets, or both? Thanks again.

Easiest thing to do would be to just call Continental reservations and ask. It would probably be faster than waiting for a reply here.

Yes, calling Continental reservations would be faster, but I usually tend to get much more accurate information here.

It was just as easy as at a restaurant when I split the tab. I just asked them to put so much on one card, and so much on the other. If I remember correctly, the transaction put all segments on each CC statement...
I believe I did this with Continental's phone reservation system - but don't remember for sure... it was many trips ago.
Good luck!

...when I've had to "separate" the segments myself, I would just print out an itinerary of what it would have cost without the extra segments, and provided that with the total amount. I would just be responsible for the added amount.

CO's reservation system can take up to two forms of payment without a problem. Any more than that and there can be issues. For instance, I paid with a credit card, a travel certificate, and miles (for an upgrade) on a recent ticket and had lots of difficulty getting it ticketed.
