Final* HP flights
I was looking at the calendar, planning my next trip to ELP the week of Sept. 22 when I realized: this is will be the last trip I can earn CO miles and use my CO status on HP. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif (And I'll only be able to do it on the outbound- return will be after the Sept. 23 cutoff.)
Are others trying hard to fly HP in the next month before the CO agreement ends?? I'll really miss them as a OnePass partner. Still waiting to hear CO's grand plans to improve their coverage in the west. Super long range RJs for the IAH-Spokane market or what??? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/tongue.gif * Re. Final: I may end up flying HP later.... but for immediate planning purposes, this is the only HP trip I have in mind. [This message has been edited by Viajero Joven (edited 08-14-2002).] |

Why connect thru IAH? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif |
Are others trying hard to fly HP in the next month before the CO agreement ends?? I'm trying so hard I quit OP and signed up with Flight Fund! My flights from DEN to the east coast now go thru PHX rather than IAH, EWR or CLE, and so far so good. |
I just booked a HP flight last week for travel this week BWI to ELP.
It felt good to give them my money/business. I don't get warm fuzzies from supporting CO now... :-\ I'll see if I can squeeeze another HP trip out before the Sept. 23 cutoff. |
Maybe we should have a get-together at the America West Club on the weekend of Sept. 21-22.

A same day RT from TUS to PHX prices out at over $300 on the 21st or 22nd, I usually get to the east coast for less then that. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
Now if I could work a TUS-PHX-LAX-CMH-Somewhere else-PHX-TUS, or something like that maybe I could get a lower fare, a long layover at PHX and some some miles too. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif |

I tried to comp HP status, but they told me it would only be valid thru 2/28/03. Kind of unfair considering I've already made status on CO til 2/29/04 and still hold 2P on UA.
I would've switched, but they're not giving me much time here... Anyone else experience this? |
I have thrown some extra business HP's way because of the split.
I sure hope HP starts flying from Houston to their hub in Columbus; it would open up all sorts of extra business for them. |

Although you won't earn Continental Miles walk into an HP club and they will grant you equal status on the spot.
At least you will still have upgrade privledges through February 2004 - Since I have been traveling through Arizona for the last two months I haave been using their F/F number with comped status - my goal is to get at least silver earned to have a back up throuh Feb 2004 HP will have to form another alliance to be viable |
I used to fly HP all the time between the bay area and Phoneix due to the CO agreement (occassional upgrades with my platinum status and free admittance to the lounge with my Presidents Club card). Once this partnership is over, it will be back to either United or Southwest. Yes, they have already comped me Platinum status on their airline, but I can't possibly earn enough miles to obtain a reasonable award.
I'm sorry that CO didn't change their mind on this thing. With all the other airlines departing from the OnePass program this year, the OP program is just becoming that much less valuable. ------------------ ff Fly first class now or your children will |

Motmor,
Lets say I go 4 times per year and get 1,200 miles round trip. THe first year I would get about 12,000 miles (with the 125%). Then I would drop to nada, and get 4,800 the second year and third year. Maybe by year four I would get a free trip? I could move my other flights to HP, but need to maintain status on the other airlines. Just not owrth it. I don't even ask for credit for WN since you have to earn the free tickets in a 12 month period. ------------------ ff Fly first class now or your children will |
