If you have sliver elite and the other person doesn't how do you put in for upgrade

I've been Silver for two years and policy is pretty strict - no companion upgrades! Only once did a PC agent override this policy and give one to my companion. The only way to do this for sure is using miles to upgrade both of you.

If one of you is Elite and the other is not, don't put both in the same PNR. When EUA runs, it goes to the lowest status in the record. There could be all kinds of F seats available for EUA upgrades, but because your travelling companion has no status, EUA treats you as if you have no status. Mrs. Duxfan (Silver) and I always travel on seperate PNR's now because of this.

As the others have posted here, I agree that putting you and your companion on separate PNR's. One option that I've done before , if you're willing to take the risk, is to see if your EUA would clear, and if it does, go ahead and try to upgrade your companion with miles. (The only risk is not having anymore upgrade seats available for your companion.)

Oh well, see which option works out for you. (This is one thing that I like at UA being a Premier, we can do companion upgrades but the only difference is that we have to surrender certificates for the upgrades.)
