Louge Access At NRT
I am going to be going on a business trip with my boss to Guam. I am going to be meeting him at Narita. He is coming in on NW from MSP. I am a Presidents Club Member. He is not. I know that CO uses the Sakura Lounge at NRT in Terminal 2 for all their flights. The CO website says guests are not allowed. Has anyone been able to get a guest in the lounge? I do not want to deal with the embarassment of rejection. I would like to know if it is possible since he is starting his day in BWI and going to be ending it in GUM with a 3 hour lay over at NRT. Any advice or personal experiences are appreciated. I know the Worldclubs are in Terminal 1 but is there a link between Terminal 1 and 2 past security?

My wife and I are Presidents Club members, and a few years ago the JL Sakura Lounge would not let us bring in one child each as a "guest."
That said, if he is arriving in NRT with a 3-hour layover, perhaps you can bring him to the NW WorldClub for a half-hour or so. There is an airside bus between Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. However, if he is "too late," he may have a problem getting on the intra-Terminal 2 "train" if CO will not issue the boarding pass. This almost happened to me one time with DL. And of course, the boarding passes were issued in T2. If there is any way you can get his NRT-GUM boarding pass issued when you check yourself in, that would be great -- I know, highly unlikely. I know this doesn't help you now, but I understand that in a few years, CO and DL may be moving over to be next to their SkyTeam partners in T1. |
You may have a problem getting past security in Terminal 1, however, as your own boarding pass will be for Terminal 2.

Perhaps you could check to see if the JL Sakura Lounge will sell a daypass for your boss.
I like their 10 cm triangular sushi. Much more filling than anything in the NW WorldClub, though I do like the NW Otsumami and smoked cheese. |
