Ever exchanged voucher for miles?

I've got a whooping $50 CO voucher for everything CO has done for me (supervisor being an as*****, a some other stuff) and really will not have any use from it. I've tried to exchange it with a FlyerTalker for an AA voucher but nobody had it. Well, I know it's just 50 bucks but it cost me 2 phone calls 30 minutes each to 1-800-WE-DO-NOT-CARE to get it http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Do you think I may be able to call them back and ask If they could exchange it for OnePass miles? I'm couple of thousands short from an 2 awards to Europe and that would almost fix it. Availability for summer to Europe is a different story, so let's not even go there http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Anyone?
Thanks

Called them and was told NO WAY!

Called again - was told - could only get 2000 miles and have to send the cert back to the HQ.

Still thinking if that's a good deal. The cert is valid until 2003 so I may be able to use it towards some good deal during the year and get more miles, if not - I'll just send it back.

do you ever travel for biz?

if so, when you redeem the cert, it does not show up on the receipt... ergo, submit the receipt and you're up $50.

2k miles is a joke, you can get that by booking 2 tix, or (4) hotel stays...

besides, do we need to go down the road of not even being able to use miles http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

Well, I'm not going to throw them away so I want to build them up a little up to a full award so I can get it (someday) and have a clean account http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I've tried to book 2 RT to Europe on NW with NW miles and that is not possible AT all during most of the summer. CO ain't the only one. I wonder if it would be easy to book NW ticket with CO miles or CO ticket with WorldPerks. Gotta try this.

Hey Damian, suggestion for you...

Now through May 31, 2002 you can transfer miles to any other OnePass account for a service charge of just $5 per 500 OnePass miles. No matter how you use OnePass MilePass -- for giving or receiving -- its an easy and affordable way to turn OnePass miles into exciting travel.
--
I would suggest going to the coupon connection forum and offer to trade the voucher for the miles from a fellow OnePass member.

I would in fact offer to do it myself, but I would use the voucher for a personal ticket, and I won't be doing that for at least the next six months http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

Thanks for the idea and offer. The only question is why couldn't you use it for personal travel/ticket ? Please explain

It's not that it can't be used for for personal travel, but that I'm not going to be doing any personal travel for awhile... my personal life is going to be REAL busy the next few months http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif, so I won't be doing traveling for awhile.
