The limitations are due to System One, Continental's CRS. CO received System One as a result of the Lorenzo asset transfers from Eastern in the 1980's.

Since that time, CO's IT focus has been on back-end systems(i.e., yield management), with little attention given to customer-convenience technology. As a result, it is very difficult to obtain international upgrades, while loopholes abound for the domestic ones. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/rolleyes.gif

Really? CO was one of the first to have automated check-in kiosks, which by the way are now several years into their second generation. To compare, AA just introduced them a few months ago. Of all the "customer convenience" technologies possible, I think automated check-in at the airport has got to rank pretty high on my list, if not at the top. I'd much rather not have to wait in line at the airport rather than not wait until Saturday for a OnePass bonus to post, for example.

True...but unfortunately they are still a long ways behind NWA with Internet Check-In, Internet Award booking, etc

I'd much rather have web check-in like NW, AS and others...
