"Waitress In The Sky"
After enjoying one of my favorite performers, Paul Westerberg of the Replacements, play this popular song last evening I thought I would take an opportunity to thank all of the FAs who monitor and post on FT. Yes, the song still makes me laugh, but it also made me think about the high level of service I really do experience while flying with CO, both in coach and first. Given the recent tenuous labor issues and the overall crazy state of the industry it would be very easy to slide in to a malais, but I have not seen anything of the sort.
Again, thank you for your professionalism and making my flights more enjoyable. |
Thanks. :)
I haven't heard the song...off to iTunes to search! |
Thank you MBM3!!
Although I am not an FA, it is so great when passengers recognize all of us for job well done. In these difficult times we really appreciate your positive input, because we here so much negative.
Thanks again!! |

I really had not thought of the song for a long time until he played it last night. Yes, it is a slam on FAs but it is a funny song overall. |

Too funny! I've always been a fan of The Replacements, but had never heard this one before! |

way off-topic, but:
I didn't see the mats until they were on their way downhill ('89), but they were one of my favorite bands in HS. While, song-wise, I'd rather see a Tim or Let it be- era show, I was really happy to get a link to this '81 live footage last week: http://www.twintone.com/video/mats/ "During the first week of September 1981, Twin/Tone took the mobile recording unit and rented a bunch of video gear and recorded 15 bands live (five nights) at the 7th Street Entry in Minneapolis... These QuickTime movies are from the show on September 5th. The band had released "Sorry Ma..." earlier in the year and were already working on future projects. These clips are presented as they were recorded live... in set order and very much with the tuning that troubled the night. The Replacements were the middle band of three (Husker Du closed the show) and played two 25 minute sets." |
I flew on TWA right before the AA/TWA buy out and they had "Unsatisfied" by the Replacements as a selection on one of their inflight music channels. I had never heard of the replacements until then but really liked the song a lot. I went right out and bought the CD that contained that song and really took a liking to the replacements. Now, everytime I hear "Unsatisified" I think of TWA and my last trip on them. Glad to know that I'm not their only fan.
Nothing to do with Continental Airlines, I know, but a story related to the original posters topic none the less. |

Definitely way off the wagon at this point. Beyond the occassional stumble and slur, he hopped off stage at one point at grabbed a shot of whiskey at the HoB bar.
I too did not see them until the late 80s but feel fortunate I had the pleasure of the experience before they quickly slide downhill in the 90s. |
