IAH-SAV

I recently became a frequent traveler on this Continental Express route. Any suggestions as to how I can boost mileage? Are there any FF specials out there to accomodate this trip?

In anticipation of Fly CO to see the Yanks rearing his ugly head -- SAV is Savannah, Georgia. That said, the first solution that pops into mind is to add EFD to both ends of your flights.

CO flies to SAV non stop from IAH, EWR, and CLE. You may be able to route through another one of those hubs to "pad" your mileage. I'm not an expert on fare rules and legal routings, probably someone else here can help.

Valid routings are :

FROM HOU-CO-DFW-CO-MEM-CO-HOU-
OR FROM HOU-CO-ATL/BNA/CHI/CMH/DFW/
IND/MKC/MSY/SDF/STL/FLL/MEM/ORL/RIC/
TPA/DAY-
TO CO-BOS/WAS-CO-SAV*
OR TO CO-CLE-CO-EWR/NYC-CO-SAV*
OR TO CO-WAS-CO-CLE/EWR-CO-SAV*
OR TO CO-DTT-CO-EWR/NYC-CO-SAV*
OR TO CO-CLE-CO-DTT-CO-CLE-CO-SAV*

so it looks like you could at least go IAH-EWR-SAV and if the timing works out could route through DCA, CLE, ATL, etc. Just a quick pricing on CO.COM came up with $251 for IAH-DCA-EWR-SAV-EWR-IAH. IMHO I'd forego the 200 miles extra and just do IAH-EWR-SAV-EWR-IAH and time the flights so that you're on one of the widebodies for upgrading purposes. Either way you're on an RJ to SAV. There's no getting around it.

I always find this stuff funny...

You can go IAH-EWR-SAV, but you cannot got EWR-IAH-SAV.

Every routing that I looked at basically showed it as direct-only.

Someone out there will prove me wrong, but I have almost never been able to find an intra-East Coast routing on CO that permits IAH. I've begun to use NW to book those trips, all on CO metal mind you... they'll pratically let you do anything on CO metal.

EWR/TPA routings for CO:
Code:

ROUTING  25    FROM  EWR-CO-CLE/DTT-
                  TO  CO-TPA*
            OR  TO  CO-FLL-CO-TPA*
            OR  TO  CO-MIA/FMY-CO-TPA*
            OR  TO  CO-JAX/PBI-CO-TPA*
            OR  TO  CO-DAB/MLB/SRQ-CO-TPA*
            FROM-TO  EWR-CO-RIC-CO-TPA*
            FROM-TO  EWR-CO-TPA*

EWR/TPA routings for NW:
Code:

ROUTING  210 FROM-TO  EWR-NW-CLE/DTT-NW-HOU/MEM-NW-
                      TPA*
            FROM-TO  EWR-NW-TPA*

So, you can book EWR/IAH/TPA all on CO metal, but purchased from NW. Then CO just takes over the itinerary.
