EWR-HKG advice

CO comped me as a UA 1P their gold status so I am looking into flying them to HKG in late FEB. APpreciate your answers -

What are their loads like ?
What are the chances of an op upgrade with 0 miles in the bank ?
Does this flight ever have to make tech stops unplanned like UA LAX-HKG did ?
Has anyone ever done this through HNL and Guam ?

In answer to some of your questions:
1- loads vary greatly, recently a EWR-HGK flight looked very full as per ITN, but in actuallity it was only 1/2 full.
2- no chance of upgrading, unless coach is full and you get a lucky operational upgrade. On international flights you have to use real miles to upgrade (40-50m). Unlike domestic flights where your status alone gets you in the front of the plane.

an op upgrade? on CO?

~insert laugh track here~

you silly person... http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif don't you know that empty BF seats are for:

1. Full BF fare paying passengers

2. Non-Revs

3. CO FF'ers who play the HoKeY game, or are willing to pay big bucks for the chance to use miles in the new BendForward plan.

I'm not sure an Op Upgrade would even make the list.... Sorry, welcome to CO!
