A Far More Descriptive Name for the Continental FF OnePass(tm) Program

After careful consideration (and a few healthy Mai Tais) I believe the severly downgraded and/or degraded Continental Airlines frequent flyer program "OnePass" has progressed to "NillPass" and very soon it would appear a more descriptive and far better name would be "NonePass"

I propose we adopt it today and call it NonePass from now on.

Any nice lawyers out there able to get a cheap copyright or trademark on this neat word? I will spring for a couple dollas.

No charge...this time.

I'll kick in for the website.

www.nonepass.com

Just tell me where you want it to point.

We should really do this! It's very catchy-- and I bet it would get noticed, both by CO and maybe the media.

Very catchy...

the-ca-goat Jan 16, 2002 4:24 pm

Think how it must be for those of us who belong to other programs.

CO is the best--look back on all of those freddies.

doc Jan 16, 2002 4:29 pm

NonePass©

It has a kinda' nice, but somewhat sad "ring" to it!

Does the "None" perhaps stand for
NoOpportunityNotEver by chance? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

gottigotti Jan 16, 2002 5:32 pm

I say go for it. Northwest and Untied both have theirs. Its about time CO got one as well.

duxfan Jan 16, 2002 5:45 pm

agreed. i'll kick in as well!

I would contribute in whatever way would help-- I see it as an "investment" in protecting the value of my OP miles.

I really like this idea.

NJDavid Jan 16, 2002 5:53 pm

Ok. The website is set-up. It will point to the "Deny" site untill someone makes another suggestion. I can point it anywhere. To this or another FT thread, or a new one we create, or anything.

Also, it comes with 5 free e-mail redirect accounts. The first 5 who post here that they want one can have "anything"@nonepass.com redirected (in full privacy - no one will see the contents) to whatever e-mail they choose.

If anyone cares, Mydomain is the provider.

me! me! me!

Can I be [email protected]?

Also, as I said, I'd be happy to contribute either some cash or some of my brilliance to the new site.

I would think the logical first step would be a "primer-page" that explains how (as an example) CO's international upgradeable fare system has changed-- pre 10/1/01-> HoKey-> HoKeyEnhanced/BendForward.

JonNYC Jan 16, 2002 6:01 pm

oh, and I think MisterNice should get a nonepass e-mail if he wants one...

avek00 Jan 16, 2002 6:01 pm

Can I be [email protected]??? Pretty please???

duxfan Jan 16, 2002 6:04 pm

i need another e-mail account like i need another hole in my head. i'll pass, thanks.

but the first thing everyone who takes up the offer should do is go and cast your freddie vote!

[email protected] and [email protected] are pointed to the e-mails shown in your respective FT profiles. E-mail me if you want them going somewhere else.

(It takes Mydomain about an hour to update the changes, and about 24 hours to point the browers in all of the DNS directories in the world. I'll repoint the website to this thread until someone writes the primer.)

Three left.

WOW! Those Mai Tais are brainfood folks. You gotta give these now continually-enhanced 24/7 NonePass(tm) flyers credit when they see a nice new opportunity. And if it still available NJDavid, make that email address [email protected] as suggested by [email protected]. It appears mostly the current 2001 NonePass Platinum Elites are up in arms. I guess there will be a lot fewer NonePass Platinum Elites next year so the NonePass Golds, Silvers and the CO non-revs can look forward to the now pricier B/F seats. Now where is that AA fax number some posted?

Not only do I have to protect the maimed and the sick, the enhanced and the impaled, but I gotta sell bridges to maintain my lifestyle and my standard of living so I can always use a new email address.........and new bridge customer.

BTW, it should be pointed out, some who are far more knowledgeable than I about the process with AA status comp have advised me that the request can take several weeks to process.

I don't mind waiting personally, but AA's generous "elite challenge" is a much quicker way to guaranteed AA elite status.

I could have someone in my office design a basicweb site for the low low price of "none charge", count Me in

June from www.belmarbeachcam.com is willing to do some work also in the design area ...She is very good at live web cams

We could put a 24 hour live cam of a nonepass card never being used ....

[email protected] ?

Well, at least it would accurately reflect my flying habits! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

Done.

I see the web-page redirect is up and running. ( www.nonepass.com gets you to here.) Someone please tell me the if the e-mail forwarding is working.

JonNYC Jan 17, 2002 2:30 pm

The e-mail forwarding is working, thanks. Just a thought-- maybe a better default page (just for the time being) would be the other thread that describes the new enhanced HoKey-- just for now?

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum20/HTML/004161.html

I think it gives a better "intro" as to what is making so many of us up and leave CO.

Done.

And I thought Mydomain limited the free e-mail forwards to five (they used to) but it seems now they have not shown me a limit...at least 4 blank spaces are still showing.
