BF Upgrade on CO/AF Codeshare

In trying to upgrade a K class ticket on a CO codeshare, AF metal,I thought upgrades came out of the Z bucket. The CO rep I just spoke with said it was the R bucket. When viewing the flight on ITN, I do not see a R bucket. Can anyone help.

It's been the R bucket for some time now. R is a subset of Z, and it is not visible to us mere mortals, only on their end.

There probably is no 'R' bucket. It's just a convenient excuse they like to give for denying you an upgrade just 'cause they feel like it!
