Swissair Wins Back Passengers, on Target to Meet Revenue Plan
Zurich, Dec. 12 (Bloomberg) -- Swissair Group, which filed for bankruptcy protection in October, has won back more customers than expected, according to Crossair AG, the regional carrier that's taking over two-thirds of the national airline's planes. More than 62 percent of seats were occupied on long-haul flights last week, compared with 38 percent expected in a business plan for the company, said Crossair Chief Executive Officer Andre Dose at a briefing in Basel. European flights were 46 percent full, 6 percentage points more than expected.... ....Dose also said Crossair has held talk with the three major global airline alliances and independent carriers about a partnership. He said there's been ``several rounds of talks'' with Continental Airlines Inc. of the U.S. http://www.bloomberg.com/fgcgi.cgi?T...dn8hXlU3dpc3Nh Edited to add cite. Whoo Hoo! That would be great! I haven't flown SwissAir in years now, but if they haven't completely gutted the airline, it shoudl still be a nice way to get to Zurich. Mrs Duxfan has been hinting for a trip to Switzerland for some time now... Maybe I can stall her just a little longer...

As I posted a couple of times before, that would be the ultimate X-Mas present, to have Wings around KL/CO/NW MAlaysian and Crossair/Swissair, throw in a couple of regional partners and you are right in the competition again, especially with the aother alliances struggling a little bit at the moment.
