EUA on Northworst?
I'll make my first trip since making Gold, and last before making Plat on NW this week. Flights currently show the following:
CLE-MSP P9 F0 MSP-PDX P9 F9 Looks good, especially on the MSP-PDX leg. But should I trust EUA to complete the NW upgrades? NW ticket, NW metal the entire trip. EUA has worked well for me on CO, but anytime NW gets involved, I get nervous... ------------------ All Hail Mighty Oregon! GO DUCKS GO! |
I've never had any problem in that situation. Keep an eye on your reservation on NW's reservation status page.

thanks for the tip. i didn't realize that you could view reservations made via a travel agent on the site. you learn something new every day, huh?

Wait a minute...you mean you actually get EUA notices from CO when flying on NW metal with a NW ticket? They certainly haven't bothered doing that for me on either of the two NW trips I've booked this year. NW never sent an EUA either. Who do you deal with for upgrades in this situation? CO referred me back to NW. Just call NW general reservations if you're not a WP elite? BTW, what's with NW holding back so many FC seats until check-in? The MEM-SEA leg of my next flight shows P9 F0 J2 C0 Z0 Y9 B9 M9 H9 Q9 V9 K9 for 11/29. Nine (plus?) FC seats open this close to the flight? Is that unusual for NW? |
thats what i was afraid to hear. i'm OnePass Gold, which usually means NW does nothing! looks like i'll have to call OnePass....

Dbaker,
Can you check that link...it isn't working for me. |
duxfan, while other people have experienced different results (never getting EUA'd on NW), my experience is that I always get EUA'd without a problem. CO, however, never sends a notice. nwa.com is the only way that I know that I've been upgraded. Whenever my CO FF number is in the reservation, NW has known to upgrade me.

thanks for the tips, we'll see what happens. i swore off northworst earlier this year, after an upgrade nightmare on my way back from TPE. but connecting at IAH just makes no sense when it comes to going home to PDX, and the CO nonstop to SEA is gone for the winter. oh well, at least the connex are at MSP both ways...

I believe that I announced it on 11/07/2001 and it gets quite a bit of traffic.

Just flew NW EWR-DTW-STL RT and was not EUAd, but I'm still Silver. At EWR I was upgraded at the counter and then got my return upgrade at the WorldClub. But as stated in other posts, F on NW is no F on CO.

I've flown NW on a couple trips recently and the automated upgrade worked great. No email like from CO, even though my address was in there, but even on the last segment, two hours before the flight, where it looked like I would need to standby for upgrade, I was automatically upgraded by the time I checked in. I think it is a small price to have to check on it. I think CO and NW have really made great strides in integrating their FF status recognition.
