SPG promo - 500 free CO miles

Call 888-625-4957 and register for promo C8 and your next stay at a SPG property will net you an extra 500 CO miles.

I didn't like the automated line and called the Plat line instead, and after some checking, they told me I could get the miles (but not the free GOLD card, since I'm already PLAT) for my next stay.

Can you get this CO 500 mile bonus if you elect to have SPG points credited to your stay (or is it just available with CO OnePass credited stays only)?

I'm not sure. She first told me I had to have my account switched to "direct deposit" to CO to get the points, and that I could then switch it back to receiving SPG points after my stay, so I told her to go ahead, but when she tried to do it, she said that CO was one of the airlines that doesn't have direct deposit, so I'm not sure if I'll receive SPG points or CO miles. I'll let you know when they post -- I'm scheduled to stay again 10/8 - 10/12.

FWIW-

As both a SPG fan and loyal onepass member, let me weigh in with my opinion that havig direct deposit is a bad move. SPG Starpoints are WAY more valuable as Starpoints than CO miles.

Something on the order of 5 times as much, IMO.

I agree, which is why I'm going to confirm that I'm not doing direct deposit after my next stay. I figured it was worth the 500 free miles for 1 stay.

Does this promo also make you "Gold" under SPG?

Yep, but since I'm already plat, I didn't need it. I'm just in it for the miles. :-)

Thank you holland. I just registered, and it should be an easy extra 500 SPG points!

Does someone know when the promo code C8 will expire?

Is that the case for direct deposit? I know that direct deposit stays qualify for Free Weekend promotion at Starwood.
