Call from CO about changed flight schedule
I had a message from CO today that said that there have been changes to the flight schedule for the week of Nov 1. The thing is that they didn't specify a flight or date. I don't remeber buying a flight for this week, but why else would they call me?
If I do have a flight for that week, I have lost all records of it, and so don't know what to ask when I call. I know how ticked they get when I call not knowing my confirmation number or flight numbers, so how do I ask for info when I don't even know where I am going, or what dates. Can they look up my name to see if I am on any flights in the future? |
I had a similar (but not as extreme) experience. I had a message with no indication of the date. So when I called, the agent had to search through each of several reservations that I have. Fortunately, the changes were only a few minutes each in departure times. I wish CO would give us the confirmation number when they leave such messages.

I got a call today (a recording) that said my itinerary in November was changed. I am going SAN-CLE on 11/9 & returning 11/12.
Anyhoo, I called the 800 number that the recording mentioned and the CO rep I spoke with said there were no changes whatsoever to any of my four flights. Que "whatcha call your" pasa? (let's see who gets that) [This message has been edited by falloutboy (edited 10-12-2001).] |
Yesterday, I got one of those computer calls telling me my itinerary had changed. After hunting around the agent determined the phone call was technically correct: it referred to an itinerary I had cancelled two days earlier.
To answer your question, srodr, the agent figured it out using my OnePass number. falloutboy: Carlin [This message has been edited by Kitty Hawk (edited 10-13-2001).] |
So this morning I tried to look at my upgrade situation on my upcoming flights via ITN. Some of my flights didn't show up anymore. I called CO and sure enough some flights were "consolidated". So I got the phone call before the agents had the information?! Anyway, everything got squared away this morning.
Yes, it was Carlin. Too easy I guess! Finally, I'm sure glad I booked my SAN-CLE flights for November and December last week. I got the $189.50 fares- now I see they're back to the $478 range. Even into early 2002... |
Hummmm..... I guess its a random thing with CO. I had a flight EWR-PHX in Nov which I had made 2 weeks ago. When I went to enter the details on the CO itinery page a note came up to call CO. It turns out they cancelled my 2:30pm flight outbound, and changed my return to an hour earlier. When were they going to notify me of this information (assuming I didn't go on their web site)??

When I checked itn.net, I discovered that CO removed my 11/21 flight, CO 1154 (6:00 P.M. ATL-EWR) from their schedule. The computer-selected reprotect was a new flight which left 30 minutes later. I declined it, opting to take the 4:45 P.M. flight instead.
Interestingly, though, was that the agent mentioned that both of these flights (the 4:45 and the 6:30) were HIGHLY under-capacity. IIRC, the 4:45 (operated with a 733) is just over 25% booked, while the 6:30 (a 735) is about 20% booked. She then speculated that CO might cancel BOTH of these flights, and combine them into a single departure. |
Apparently there has been many flights in/out of EWR cancelled or consolidated. Two intin's I was looking at purchasing have disappeared.
