Sorry, you have to take full responsibility for your behavior or you can not expect any recovery! It is my belief, that no one forced you to do anything, that you didn't want to do! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Now if you transfer your miles, I will be more then happy to help you break this outrageous behavior, and you will succeed by understanding what the driving force is. No need to feel ambivalence about what you are doing, if you continue to do it, over and over again! You will get more satisfaction from your travels! http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Hoieunkim;
Oh I'm probably gonna' do it-- don't get me wrong! One small wrinkle: all of a sudden the nice $653 fare I got this past weekend comes up the same $$ or even less BUT, the rules for the fare say non-upgradeable. Same fare-- different rules, so I have to call and find out min. upgradeable. You thinkin' of any Asia runs in the near future??..Wait I forgot you just got back so maybe you haven't seen the bonus miles post to your account yet?? That, lamentably, is when the fever really kicks in...
*BONUS*

*DOUBLE BONUS*
*TRIPLE BONUS*

I swear this is a disease. I have a EWR-MXP-MSP-EWR in two weeks.

It will push me to Gold (~10,000 elite miles) and net me about 50,000 miles total.

Someone help me.

Hoieunkim;
Don't lose ANY sleep over it-- I know what you're going through-- all you see is the base miles (+ eticket,elite bonus if applicable) on your "activity since" page.
We've all been throught that-- seeing just the miles, no bonus'. But then BOOM! come this weekend the miles will come cascading in-- and any other flights you've taken in the last few months will be miraculously ressurected as well. Just sit tight...

Next week we'll talk about our next run http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/biggrin.gif

p.s. I visit friends in Boston periodically and always stay at The Charles Hotel, Cambridge

Codystyle; is your MXP trip a pure mileage run? And when, roughly is it? LOVE Italy runs...

The EWR-MXP portion is a run (Sat-Sun), MSP-EWR (Sun-Fri) is business. I leave on the 14th.

Unfortunatly I only have a few hours in Italy, just enough time for lunch! I've never been but I hear it's great. I'm spending some "real time" in Italy this summer so I'm not that upset.

I'm doing IAH-EWR-HKG this weekend. I don't know what fares are available but would enjoy the company if you can make it work. I'm departing Saturday and returning Monday.

Jon, (Ms. Fishbait here)

As you know by my recent email - I was very serious about an NRT run in a couple weeks, UNTIL they made the sale fare non-upgradeable!! They took away the Mar-Apr UPGRADEABLE fare and just extended the May NON-UPGRADEABLE one.. Oh well, I guess they caught on! (BTW, had I NOT waited for Mr. Fishbait's opinion, it would have been a done deal; fare disappeared overnight Thurs/Fri last week...) Would LOVE to go on the run but refuse to sit in coach when sitting on over a million miles and BF is wide open! CO quoted me cheapest upgradeable as about $1400 RT (too rich for my blood for a mileage run, esp X 3 or 4). Will be keeping an eye on the fares, so if it appears again I'm up for it! (or any other long range UPGRADEABLE option) Let me know if you hear of anything! (I've got the fever too!)

JonNYC Apr 4, 2001 9:29 am

Yup, that fare certainly did "disappear" we'll have to keep an eye out for something cheaper than $1400. ****, that was a great deal.
IWANT; I can't go this weekend extending into Monday, I have a deposition (being sued) that I've rescheduled a couple of times already. Have a great trip, maybe you'll be up for another once the bonus miles post.

I'd love to do HKG or NRT (something on a 777) in one of the upcoming weekends, upgradeable sub-$1000 fare. Anyone spot one, please let me know! -jp

skyblue Apr 4, 2001 12:15 pm

Oh no, I think I'm starting to catch the mileage bug too. I'm toying with the idea of DCA-NRT this weekend. I'm finding ~$738 (depart Sat, return Mon) -- this is the cheapest I can find; since I'm non-elite (for now), I'm not too worried about trying to find upgradable fares.

What do y'all think? Am I getting good bang for the buck at this price? (considering the AMEX bonuses out there as well)...

JonNYC Apr 4, 2001 3:54 pm

skyblue;
IMHO anything under $900 is a pretty good deal. Assuming you're using Amex non-plat you'll still net somewhere aroung 70,000 miles or so, which is worth at least $700 plus you'll be more than 1/2 way to the next Elite level, so... -jp
