Trival Question? Or superstition?

Okay, I flew flight 19 from EWR to RDU today. The plane number on the cockpit door was 665. So here's my question...
Do you think they actually have an airplane numbered 666 in the fleet? OR is it like a building skipping using 13 when numbering floors? Did they just jump to 667 ? Anybody got a clue?

I would imagine CO would have a plane numbered 666. I think the pilot's name is Lewis C. Furr along with first officer Damien Thorn. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

Cigarman,

Were you on a 737-500? I just did a search on the 'Commerical Jet Aircraft' census website and yes, Continental does have a ship# 666 - the funny thing is that it's registration # is N14667. (Ship # 665 is registered N14665).

Yes, it was the 737. Maybe 666 is reserved for Jaws and NJdavid to fly? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/wink.gif

I am surprised! It seems like most places skip 666 and 13.

Anyone ever been in a building with a 13th floor?
